In the old days, we kept training logs for our running, cycling and other adventures. When I was a kid, I had my trusty training log, detailing out where and when I ran and rode my rather clunky road bike. According to the magazines, if you did not have a training log, you were not a serious athlete.

To be honest, I never did a very good job at logging each of my riding adventures. I was usually too high on endorphines to write much. Then, the digital cycling computer was introduced, which captured your distance, max speed, average speed, etc. I thought that was great, until the GPS bicycle computers were introduced. Wow!

You Can Collect 3-D Trip Data with a Bike GPS Computer

Imagine finishing your exhilarating tour of the countryside on your bike and downloading the trip on to your computer. On your screen, you will see a three dimensional view of the course you just road, the elevation changes, calories burned, speeds between waypoints, etc. This is awesome!

Instead of you having to compose a short story about your daily ride, a GPS cycling computer will happily keep track of this information for you with no effort on you part. This is a perfect way to use the latest GPS technologies that will actually result in less work for you…instead of more work.

Never Get Lost Again with Your Bike GPS Computer

Finally, I almost forgot the purpose of the Global Position System in the first place…navigation! With the excellent mapping software included with some bike GPS receivers, you may never make that navigation mistake and go down that long dead end road again!

How many times has that happened, resulting in logging unneccesary long miles. It is always embarassing to have your wife pick you up when you get a little lost!

Inconvenience aside, what about if you are riding your mountain bike in the back country and miss that trail turnoff. This could actually prove to be life-threatening. Having a bicycle GPS computer could save your life when the going gets dicey!

If these reasons are not enough to take a serious look at buying a bike GPS receiver for your trusty bike, then you may want to consider expanding your cycling horizons!
